Moira Mukuka recognised as a leader in ESG in the EMEA Green Guide 2024

The first and only Zambian firm to get recognition

Moira Mukuka Legal Practitioners, a Zambian business law firm established in 2020, has been recognised by the Legal 500’s EMEA Green Guide 2024 (Green Guide) as one of the leading law firms for sustainability in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The EMEA Green Guide recognises law firms contributing to the green transition through client work and their internal commitment to sustainability.

According to Sharon Sakuwaha, the firm’s co-managing partner, the recognition is the culmination of many things, including commitment, hard work, trust, and client support.

This recognition reflects the steadfast commitment and hard work of our team, reinforced by the trust and support of our clients. While Moira Mukuka advises clients on a wide range of issues related to sustainability, the environment, and governance, including renewable energy development, carbon markets, green finance, ESG, and sustainability-related regulations, the recognition stems from the firm’s work on the groundbreaking CEC Renewables USD 200 million Green Bond Programme, which resulted in Zambia’s first green bond.

In addition, Sharon and senior associate Mumbi Mulenga were individually recognised for their contribution to the firm’s sustainability work as Green Ambassadors.

Moira Mukuka also recently joined the SDG initiative, committing to sharing knowledge and best practices on how the law can contribute towards sustainable development goals.
